Well-Mannered Woofs Dog Training and Walking Services:
Well-Mannered Woofs promotes positive reinforcement training; no aversive equipment or training techniques are used.
1 – Services
All dog(s) being walked will undergo a trial period to ensure that they are adequately trained and socialised, unless specifically on a booked training walk.
Group training classes of no more than six dog(s) offered in blocks of five, one hour sessions.
Consultation sessions (up to 45 minutes) are used to assess your dogs behaviour and to try and identify the root cause of your dogs behaviour. This helps better understand the best course of action, moving forwards. If further training is required, then we may recommend one of our One-to-One sessions or Group Training packages, however there is no obligation for you to take up further training.
One to one lessons, offered in blocks of two or three, one hour sessions, venue hire (if required) will be an additional cost payable by Client. Venue costs (where required) are payable up front and will be confirmed at time of booking.
Dog(s) walking:- 45 min walk, excluding pick-up and drop-off.
Group walks of no more than four dog(s).
Off lead walks only available with prior agreement of Client. These are subject to assessment by Well-Mannered Woofs and only available based on the following factors; time of day, location and external activity on any given day.
Solo walks are available on request.
Training walks are subject to prior consultation and assessment, and will occasionally require Client participation.
Care visits will be offered in cases of severe weather conditions and or any unforeseen circumstances. These will consist of a toilet break and/or enrichment play session, of shortened duration.
2 – Emergencies
Well-Mannered Woofs will contact the Client, on provided number to decide course of action. If Client unavailable, Well-Mannered Woofs is authorised to;
transport the dog(s) to Clients veterinarian
request on site veterinary treatment
transport dog(s) to the nearest emergency veterinary clinic.
The Client is liable for all medical expenses of their dog(s) including transportation of the dog(s) to veterinary clinic.
Well-mannered Woofs accepts no liability for any accident or injury that may befall the Clients dog(s).
Well-mannered Woofs accepts no liability for any accidents, injuries or damages caused by the Clients dog(s).
The Client is liable for all medical expenses and damages resulting from an injury to Well-Mannered Woofs personnel caused by the dog(s).
Well-Mannered Woofs strongly recommends that all dogs have suitable insurance to help cover any emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
3 – Client Responsibilities
It is the Clients responsibility to comply with the law for the dog(s) to be microchipped and wear a collar with Clients identification including postcode.
All dog(s) must have up to date vaccinations, up to date vaccination certificates are required.
All dogs must have up to date flea and worm treatment. Any dogs found to be infested with fleas will be removed from the sessions, with immediate effect, until the infestation has been eradicated.
The Client must alert Well-mannered Woofs to any behavioural problems, characteristic, trait or behavioural history that might make a dog(s) unsuitable for training classes at the time of booking. Any misleading information on the Client registration forms may be a breach of the walking/training contract and result in instant termination. Please do not knowingly book a dog(s) that shows aggression to people or dog(s) (or has bite history) onto walking or training sessions.
Be aware that to maintain a safe and responsible dynamic within the walking group and/or training sessions, females in season generally cannot attend sessions for at least 4 weeks. Care visits will be scheduled, in place of a walk.
Children are welcome to attend group classes such as puppy classes with appropriate adult supervision from the Client. The children, and the safety of the children, remain the sole responsibility of the supervising adult at all times. If the children are disruptive to the class, the supervising adult will be asked to remove them from the class, in order to provide a quality service to other Clients.
Clients are not permitted to record Well-Mannered Woofs (or other participants in a group class) unless by express advance written permission of Well-Mannered Woofs and the other participants.
The Client understands and accepts that their dog(s) remains entirely their responsibility at all times, whether or not they are in the presence of Well-Mannered Woofs.
4 – Responsibilities of Well-Mannered Woofs
Well-Mannered Woofs will keep safe and confidential all keys, entry devices, access codes and personal information of the Client. All keys etc will be returned to the Client at the end of contract.
During a training session, you and your dog(s) may be photographed and/or videoed for research, to record training progress, for educational materials and for promotional materials. These may be uploaded on to Well-Mannered Woofs website, Facebook or other social media sites. Children will not be photographed or videoed.
Well-Mannered Woofs accepts no responsibility for security or damage to Clients property during agreement.
Well-Mannered Woofs reserves the right to terminate with immediate effect, any walking or training session, should any dog(s) become aggressive or dangerous. In this instance every effort will be made to find alternative solutions.
Well-Mannered Woofs is fully insured and DBS checked.
5 – Payments
Payment by bank transfer ten days before commencement of training/walking sessions.
Dog walking payments are payable in advance, on a monthly basis.
Cancellations with less than 48 hours may be charged a full rate, however, every effort will be made to reschedule for an alternative date.
6 – Indemnification
By making a booking with Well-Mannered Woofs, the Client agrees to indemnify Well-Mannered Woofs for all or any costs, losses, liabilities and claims that arise from clients dog(s) behaviour, unless Well-Mannered Woofs is knowingly wilful or negligent.
